Yoga

Using classical positions and Hatha style, including breathing techniques and relaxation. Classes are small and bookings are essential. Classes are available Monday mornings 10-11am, Monday and Wednesday evenings 7-8.30 pm. In the evening classes we spend an hour and a half helping our body, mind and emotions return to a natural sense of balance. Through a moderate yoga practice we begin with stretches to release the back and settle the breath, followed by work towards the classical yoga postures (Asanas). We include traditional breathing techniques and concentration practices that lead us into quiet meditation. We finish the class with a lying relaxation for 10-15 minutes. In Hatha Yoga we emphasise the healthy movement of the spine and mobilisation of the joints, whilst at the same time developing strength and suppleness in the muscles. Yoga is suitable for most people and the postures can be modified to take account of physical limitations.

Personal Yoga Tuition

Individual yoga tuition is available working on a one to one basis to explore and develop a personal yoga practice. This can be tailored to address specific issues such as tightness in the shoulders or improving the movement of the spine/back. It may be that you want to learn a safe yoga routine that you can perform at home. Personal tuition currently costs £25 per hour for 1 person and £30 per hour for 2 people.
