Emotional Freedom Technique - Tapping (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as Tapping) is a technique that combines traditional acupunture/acupressure points and modern psychological techniques to assist with a wide range of emotional issues or physical conditions.

Originally developed by Gary Craig in America and used to treat Post Traumatic Stress, it has evolved since the 1990's into a technique that is becoming accepted by mainstream medicine as well as by complimentary health practitioners.

In the UK Staffordshire University has held clinical trials with GP's in Birmingham and this has resulted in the technique being adopted in a number of practices.

So how does it work?  It has long been acknowledged that physical pain and ill health are often connected to negative emotions and experiences.  Acupressure points on the head, torso or hands are tapped or pressed in sequence whilst focusing on and verbalising the particular problem or emotion.  It is often described as 'Acupuncture without the needles', with the meridian energy points in the body being stimulated by the tapping.  This assists the body to release the negative emotions and blockages, help with physical recovery and bring the body back into balance.

The technique can be easily taught so that clients are able to use the technique themselves.

EFT can be used to help with weight management, physical and emotional pain, confidence issues, grief, anger, phobia, trauma and many other issues and conditions.

Our EFT Practitioner Mark Clutton is available in our Mickleover Centre on Wednesdays and Thursdays and our Nottingham Centre on a Friday. Richard is available at our Mickleover Centre on a Saturday.
