Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE)

We’re delighted to announce that the centre is now open, and we look forward to welcoming you back. For the full list of Practitioners Currently Available for Appointments and for Important Information Regarding Your Visit please visit the Bridge Centre Blog.

Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) encourages the body to recalibrate and come back to balance, helping to build up resilience and release restrictive emotions and energies that no longer serve you.

What is TRE?

Recognising that the body’s history affects our state of mind, TRE takes You, the client, on a journey that encourages the body to release negativity through a regime of simple exercise and movement. This is all done without the need to consciously know what challenges You might be holding.

Once learnt this self-regulation practice can be carried on in your own home at your own pace to help enhance your wellbeing.

An initial one to one introductory session is recommended, follow up appointments can be experienced in a one to one or group setting.

Family sessions are also available upon request.

Trauma comes into our lives from many pathways. It can be physical, emotional or a mixture of both and the impact is unique and individual to each person’s body and mind. The TRE practitioner’s aim is to teach you a range of movements and exercises to aid relaxation and the body’s ability to process trauma and tension.

Benefits of TRE

For some people talking about fears, worries and distress can seem daunting. With TRE you don’t have to talk about your physical or emotional pain, where it comes from or what caused it; it’s about the physical release and learning exercises that can be used as part of your routine.

TRE may support you with:

  • Fears & Phobias
  • Panic Attacks
  • Grief
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Confidence
  • Trauma
  • Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Sexual Issues

What to expect

On the first visit trauma and its many guises will be explained, then the practice will be shared and you will experience a short temor. The session will finish with feedback and any questions. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing.
