Sue Whalley-Lloyd – Integrated TCM & Five Element Acupuncturist
I’m Sue Whalley-Lloyd, an Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine & Five Element Acupuncturist and founder of Spectrum Health.
I am a BAcC (British Acupuncture Council) member and regulated by the Professional Standards Authority for health and social care.
In 2011 I graduated from the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading with a Licence to Practice (LicAc) and a first-class honours degree in Chinese Medicine Acupuncture. The first place I practiced after qualifying was here at the Bridge Centre. Since then, following a move to Yorkshire and then working in Staffordshire, I have returned to the Bridge Centre, now with 14 years’ experience spanning a diverse range of people, conditions, and ages.
Throughout this journey my main specialism has continued to be supporting women through their gynaecological journey – particularly their early menstrual cycle and into pregnancy – but also the journey through menopause.

I have a post graduate diploma awarded 2012 in Paediatric Acupuncture allowing me to support babies through to adulthood and extensive post graduate training in Natural Fertility and IVF support (this qualified me to be a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network).
There is nothing more rewarding than receiving a picture of a new baby from one of my lovely ladies who had previously struggled to conceive.
I have undertaken training with Debra Betts addressing the use of acupuncture through pregnancy and have very recently undertaken specific training in western diagnosis and treatment of PCOS which enables me to talk confidently with your GP, navigate test requirements & results and identify relevant natural health support – particularly in the form of Acupuncture.
You may not need gynae support but if you are suffering from unexplained pain, chronic pain or acute pain then I also have training in acupuncture for sports injuries, musculoskeletal problems, pain management, migraines and headaches. Due to my previous background, including a PhD, I enjoy the challenge of researching unusual conditions or symptoms and finding a solution. Patient safety is also particularly important to me which led me to work at Staffordshire University for three years developing and leading their MSc human factors in patient safety.
Outside work I have played tennis with the same group of women for nearly 20 years (its as much about the chat as the tennis), I enjoy music and books, walking through nature -particularly looking at gardens (rather than doing the gardening!) and I regularly volunteer at the National Memorial Arboretum.
What people say about Sue
“My period cycle went out of sync to over 50 days. I found Sue when researching fertility support as we had been trying for a baby for 12 months.
Sue explained 10-12 sessions may support me in shortening my cycles and it absolutely worked.
Approximately 12 sessions in, my cycle reduced to 30 days and the following month I was pregnant!
Sue gave so much support throughout my treatment and afterwards, for which I will be forever grateful.” Sally M, Stafford
(Ps Sofia was born 8 March 2025)
