Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to help tackle mental or physical ailments or conditions or simply to bring about an improved sense of wellbeing.

Essential oils are used and recommended after a through consultation covering diet, lifestyle, health, medication and medical conditions. The Aromatherapist is guided by the client in terms of areas of their physical and mental health that they would like support with. Essential oils are then selected based on the therapists knowledge but also by the way the client responds to the smell of the oils as it is believed that on some level we will instinctively know which oils will be helpful for us to use.

The oils and blends of oils used in the treatment room can be made up for the client to take home and use. The essential oils are added to a carrier oil for use in the bath, through compresses or on the body. Oils can also be diffused using steam diffusers which are available to purchase from our Neal's Yard Organic range.

Our Aromatherapists are able to combine Aromatherapy with Aromatherapy Massage, Facials, Reflexology, Scalp or Abdominal Massage.

One to one training is also available if you are interested in incorporating essential oils more fully into your lifestyle. This focuses on selecting oils, blending oils and applying through compresses, bathing, massage and inhalation.

The majority of essential oils used in treatments at The Bridge Centre are from Neal's Yard Organic and are available to buy online here.
