Your Visit

Arriving for your Appointment

Our waiting room is open during reception hours (9am-6pm). Outside of this time please wait either outside or in your car. As space is limited please do not enter the waiting area more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment.

MASK WEARING... In general, you do not need to wear a mask when visiting the Centre, however there are certain exceptions.

OSTEOPATHS RACHEL SHAW & CATHY TRAVIS ask that you wear a mask when attending an appointment with them ONLY IF;
•    You or someone you are in close contact with is clinically vulnerable.
•    You have recently had a cough, cold, or similar issue that could be a symptom(s) of a respiratory infection.

PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT if you are in the first few days of a cough or cold and may be infectious.

OCCASIONALLY OTHER PRACTITIONERS MAY ASK YOU TO WEAR A MASK DURING YOUR VISIT. The Reception Team will advise you of this with a call or when entering the Centre.

Masks are currently available from Reception.

Please note that mask guidelines are subject to change in line with any government or Practitioner Governing Body recommendations.

Your Practitioner will come and collect you from the waiting area / outside at the time of your appointment. If you're displaying symptoms of Covid-19 you may be asked to leave and rebook your appointment.

Please apply Hand Sanitiser when entering and leaving the building.

What to wear to your Appointment?

For treatments that require physical interaction we suggest wearing non- restrictive clothing that will allow you to move comfortably and be examined where needed.

Some treatments may require the removal of certain items of clothing to allow for access to affected parts of the body. If you are uncomfortable with this, please advise your Practitioner and they will suggest an alternative process of treatment.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are currently unable to offer you blankets* during treatments, but please feel free to bring your own along.

*you will always be offered couch roll to maintain your modesty.

Treating Children

All our Practitioners are guided by their own governing bodies and will have individual procedures in place when treating children (some Practitioners may not treat minors at all). Your child’s Practitioner will advise you of their own procedures.

Osteopathy (including Cranial Osteopathy) Children 16 years and under must be accompanied throughout appointments by a parent or legal guardian.

Talking Therapies (this includes Hypnotherapy, Counselling and Emotional Freedom Technique) Children 18 years and under must be accompanied throughout appointments by a parent or legal guardian. A consent form must also be signed prior to treatment.

Treating during Pregnancy

Some treatments may not be suitable for women during certain stages or throughout pregnancy, other treatments may need adjusting. Please always let your practitioner know if you are or think you may be pregnant.

Supporting clients with life threatening or limiting illness.

We are devoted to supporting clients in the best way possible, working with the individual and their specific needs.

All our Practitioners are self-employed and follow guidelines dictated by their governing bodies and their own business ethos on who they can help and support.

When it comes to treating clients with serious health issues, including life limiting conditions, our Practitioners have to look at both the positive and possible negative effects on a case-to-case basis. If the Practitioner feels they may be able to offer support they will then carry out an assessment, consulting with the client, before agreeing to any treatment. Unfortunately, in some cases treatment may not be possible.

If you do receive treatment from our Practitioners, please do bear in mind;
•    Our treatments are in no way a replacement for those offered by the NHS / western medicine and should never be used as such.
•    Advice should always be sought from your NHS / western medicine specialist before receiving any additional treatment.

Parking

Parking is available outside of the building, we do ask that where possible you avoid parking in front of our neighbouring businesses. If you park on the local streets, please avoid blocking access to any properties.

All vehicles are left at the owner’s risk, and the Bridge Centre cannot take responsibility for any damage or theft of any vehicles whilst clients are visiting the centre.

COVID-19 Procedures - Reviewed & Updated October '22

To ensure the Health & Safety of all our Clients, Practitioners and the Bridge Team, restrictions remain in place, and you will be advised of specific requirements relating to your treatment when booking.

Feeling unwell or had a positive Covid-19 test?
We politely request that if you have tested positive for COVID-19 you do not attend the centre until either 10 days have passed, or you have received 2 negative tests after day 5. If you are unable to test we request that you rearrange your appointment for at least 10 days after symptoms started. This advice is in keeping with the government guidelines to protect vulnerable individuals who may be at the centre at the time of your visit, and also to keep Practitioners, and Bridge Centre Team Members as safe as possible.

Sanitise Hands
Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel is available in Reception, please apply upon entering & leaving the Centre.

Wear a mask?

Mask wearing in the Centre is no longer compulsory, however if you are in any doubt of your health (but do not feel you need to cancel your appointment) or the health of those you have been in close contact with, please wear a mask to your appointment.

Please refer to 'Arriving for your Appointment' section of this page for more information.

Your Practitioner may ask you to wear a mask during your treatment, unless you are officially exempt.

You may notice that your Practitioner or member of the Reception Team is wearing a mask – this is for their own safety and undertaken as part of their advised clinical practice or as individual preference.
