J is for Joint Pain

Joint pain is an extremely common complaint, but that doesn’t mean we have to put up with it!

We don’t often pay much attention to our joints. At the end of a long day we might be grateful for our stamina that’s kept us going, or maybe our muscles that gave us strength, but we rarely send any appreciation to our joints. It seems the only time we notice our joints is when they’re giving us some gyp!

Most of us will suffer with joint pain at some point or another, especially as we get older. Sadly no joint is immune and we can be affected in all areas, from ankles and knees, to shoulders and neck - and every joint in between!

Causes of joint pain can vary greatly and include strain and injury, autoimmune conditions, arthritis and infection to name but a few. With any new or prolonged joint pain it’s important you receive appropriate care and advice from your GP or an Urgent Care facility to ensure correct diagnosis and treatment.

Joint pain can have a huge impact on your daily life, but it doesn’t always have to be something you just accept and struggle on with - there’s help available!

Acupuncture is a popular treatment for those suffering with joint pain, in particular those looking for arthritis support or struggling with prolonged pain and stiffness. If you’re experiencing similar issues and would like to talk to one of our Acupuncturists a FREE 30 minute consultation is available so you can talk through your symptoms and find out how Acupuncture may be able to support you. Simply call our reception team to arrange.

Osteopathy is another popular treatment for joint pain. Combining manipulation, joint articulation, gentle soft tissue work and cranial osteopathy this holistic treatment helps bring the body back into balance, helping to reduce pain and increase movement range.

To find out more about the above therapies and others at The Bridge Centre which can support you with joint pain, contact the reception team on 01332 521 270.
